Though I'm not a huge fan of the winter season, it was nice to have so much pretty snow outside (and me all warm and toasty inside). When I went outside and started to shovel snow, a very kind neighbor came over with his snow blower and removed all the snow from around my truck in the driveway and cleared a nice path on both sides and to the front door. I want to get a goodie package together and will send it over to thank him.
Even though I didn't do a lot of snow shoveling, I rewarded my efforts with a hot cup of chocolate! Lucy enjoyed running through the snow as you can see from the blurry photo on the right.
The winter storm warning is in effect until 5 am tomorrow. It is supposed to continue to snow until Thursday afternoon, but I doubt if another snow day will be called tomorrow. Maybe we'd be lucky to have a 2-hour delay.
In any case, I'm going to stay inside as much as possible and will stay warm and toasty.

Wow, That is a lot of snow for you. Beautiful. It is nice to have good neighbors. We had about as quarter inch of hail yesterday evening, but it did not last long. It was very cold, for us, this morning, less than 30 degrees. Weather man predicted maybe a record for cold temp for last night but will have to wait until evening news to check it out.

Haha dogs are funny in the snow. I've yet to take my border collie though to see how she responds as we've only had her for one winter season. Guess what her name is..
Hey you happen to know if different breeds have perticular lengths of time they can be in snow without them paw/leg protection booties?
Ok times up.. Did you guess her name as being Lucy too? umm er why else would I click on a blog titled Lucy.. well her full name is Lucy Liu after the actress. She is best smartest dog I ever had. We looked at beagles and beagle mixes as I do some hunting but we could not overcome the fear of howling and the escape artist nature of the beagle. I bet you have your hands full. :)
Funny that your dog is named Lucy too and that I sometimes nickname my girl "Lucy Loo" not after the actress! I love beagles and have had a lot of luck with teaching them to not howl excessively. My first beagle I had to use a training collar but Lucy just isn't a howler. She rarely gets going which is awesome since we live in a tight neighborhood. My first beagle was an escape artist as you called it but Lucy is very much a homebody unless she sees a little critter like a squirrel when we're camping. As for paw protection, I don't know how long dogs should be in the snow without them. My Lucy has been out no more than an hour.
